My Story.

How I Got Here

I was born an artist. When I was a kid, my mother would take me with her to paint murals for the neighbors, local school, and other businesses that hired her. I dabbled in painting myself, but as I got older, a different medium captured my interest.

I started as most young writers do; I set out to write a bestselling fantasy series. I‘m self-taught, my teachers being F. Scott Fitzgerald, Albert Camus, Mary Beard, James Baldwin, and others. It would take decades before I discovered my personal voice, developed a style, and—you guessed it—stumbled into marketing and journalism.

It was the Pandemic that did it. Having moved back to Los Angeles from London (I was studying Theater there), with all prior jobs out of business or on hold, I had to find a new way to make money.

Enter my first client! A corporation known as Convivial Brands, looking to enter e-commerce for the first time!

I was tasked with updating their ENTIRE catalogue of some 7,000 products with fresh descriptions for the new site. This was the trial by fire in which I learned the techniques for powerful marketing copy. I added to it my natural flair for language and background in storytelling.

Since that first client, I’ve worked my way into my corner of the prosaic market; fashion, design, and art. It’s been a joy to revisit my roots as a painter with projects made in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, Madonna, East Continental Gems, and more purveyors and curators of the sublime and luxurious.

I still paint as a hobby, and I’m developing a career on the stage and screen, too. As I said, I was born to be an artist!
